Bora:bit (보라빛)

Bora:bit (보라빛) is a five-member co-ed K-pop project formed by students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Consisting of three male and two female members, the group writes and produces original Korean-language songs that blend contemporary K-pop production with R&B, future-bass, and hip-hop influences.

While their primary focus is studio recordings and polished music releases, Bora:bit occasionally performs live on campus and at regional events, incorporating synchronized choreography that highlights the group’s dynamic stage presence. The name “Bora:bit,” meaning “purple light” in Korean, reflects both their signature violet aesthetic and the creative energy that radiates from the Amherst campus.

Rooted in the DIY spirit of college music scenes yet executed with the precision and visual identity of professional K-pop acts, Bora:bit represents a fresh, cross-cultural voice emerging from American higher education—one that honors the conventions of the genre while remaining distinctly their own.
